Guided Meditation

Monthly Guided Meditation

Meditation FrontWe invite everyone to join us each week for our 3 Hour Saturday Meditation service from 9 am to 12 Noon. On the first Saturday of every month, the format of the 3-hour service is a Guided Meditation. In Guided Meditation services, devotees are led in Paramahansa Yogananda’s Energization Exercises, breathing technique, and into the individual practice of the Hong Sau technique of concentration, Om technique of attuning with the Cosmic Vibration, and Kriya Yoga technique of concentration within the spine. Devotees are also led in the silent chanting of Om at each of the seven spinal centers and into the conscious practice of silent devotion.

Though the specifics of the meditation techniques themselves are not taught in these services, Guided Meditation services are open to all and are beneficial to newcomers and long-time meditators alike. Those who have not yet received the SRF techniques of meditation will nevertheless benefit from group practice of the Energization Exercises, breathing exercise, meditating and chanting with other devotees, informative readings about the SRF techniques of meditation, and specific instructions to guide their meditation during the service.

Anyone may enter or leave during a chant at about 10 am, but please note that subsequent chant times for Guided Meditations vary and are not necessarily on the hour. To reap the greatest benefits, we encourage everyone to attend the Guided Meditation from the beginning at 9 am. The SRF techniques of meditation are taught only through Paramahansa Yogananda’s SRF Lessons for Home Study. Applications for the Lessons are available at the DFW Meditation center or online from SRF.
